As part of my move to the wonderful Mornington Peninsula one of my goals was to become, even healthier and fitter than 'usual' for me.

(Remembering healthy for me means no coughs, colds or flu for over 8 years !)

I admit, I put on some weight when my parents visited from the UK the year before but...

Nothing Drastic !

Yet, as a wellness creator, I wanted to see how well I could practice all my health knowledge and more...

I started re-reading articles by Don Tolman and the infamous book by Tim Ferris "The 4 Hour Body"

10 kilos lighter in a few short weeks and certainly fitter after several 6-8kms walks a week along the beach front, I knew I had achieved my goal.

A year later and I have dropped a further 12% body fat in recent weeks, just by maintaining my health strategies courtesy of Don !

It's true that a lot of people want to lose weight for health reasons.

But...

It's also true that the primary reason people want to lose weight is to look and feel good. (Don't we all!)

What we look like on the outside often greatly affects how we feel about ourselves on the inside.

This article gives you the key tools to help you feel slimmer, happier and more energetic than you've ever felt before.

Much Aloha

Well I am now into the official 3rd week of my weightloss challenge and have to say, I am loving it!

I know I didn't have too much weight to lose, but trialling this new method has been pretty easy for me :)

This week, another 1.5kgs drop and a loss of 8cm overall! WOW - gotta be happy with that! Body fat was also down to 32.9% so I am now weighing in at 65.5kgs...... ONLY 2 more kgs to go! YAY! :)

Anyone else want to get rid of those 'fat days'?

Well this week's weigh in on Monday saw the scales drop down to 66.9kg, which was great! (although my mid week sneek peak saw it at 66.2kg..... ah well)

A further 2cm were lost around my waist too :)

Looking forward to cheat day though this week, lots and lots of chocolate, maybe a treat at Andrew's Burgers in Albert Park, danish pastries for breakfast....... YUM! Maybe Pizza for lunch too ;-)

I have never had a huge problem with weight, as I generally eat pretty healthy and am fairly active, although my weakness is ice cream and anything sweet and sugary; I am also not overly keen on the gym it bores me....

15 years in hospitality saw me put on a fair bit of weight though and I crept up to the 80kg mark, but in 2004 I managed to lose 18kgs with the help of a complete change in diet, some help from both a naturopath and PT.

62kgs might have been a little too far, and I have found that I feel at my optimum at the 64-65kg mark, so after a visit from my parents in the UK and visiting every winery, brewery, cheese, olive and bread place in Victoria, over a 3 weeks period I managed to gain 6kgs and hit the 70kg mark last year.

So now I have relocated, have settled into relaunching Sanctuary for Souls, it is time to get back on track. For the last couple of months I have been more conscientious of what I have been eating, although I still give in to the sugar, but now that I live on the beautiful peninsula, walking and exercising at sunset has become much easier and enjoyable. With a starting weight of 70.3kg, I have already dropped approx 3kg and haven't even really started - UNTIL TODAY!!

Today is DAY 1 of the challenge and I currently weigh 67.3kg! So watch this space...... and watch my journey!

Did I mention I have already lost 6cm prior to really starting too?? :-)
