Sanctuary for Souls is committed to helping the community both locally and at large.

Vicky is a dedicated volunteer and has assisted many Not For Profits and charities over the years.

Vicky witnessed first hand the benefits of various organisations, through the adoption of her brother and his consequential care and upbringing with her family, until his unfortunate passing when she was 23.

Seeing how much his life had changed in the 10 years he spent as a member of her family, made her realise how much of a positive difference some NFPs have and how important their work is.

Vicky has used her experience within the hospitality industry to orchestrate events for 600 Australian Defence Force members (RVR 5/6), successfully and single-handedly cheffed a 3 course meal for 100 people attending a luncheon for Muma Lumka, been on a committee for a women only event to raise funds for Women Against Domestic Violence, as well as attended many charity events personally.

Vicky has also volunteered as a live-in respite and support person through Wesley Mission for a single mum with a disabled daughter; been involved with YGAP as a volunteer, she was also the Victorian State Rep for 3 years and later President for a full term at Infant Massage Australia.

Vicky is extremely excited by the work that the team at B1G1 are doing and is very grateful for her connection to them! Vicky is absolutely in love with them!!

Due to now being based on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula, Vicky is integrating herself into their strong Human Rights presence and looking at becoming involved with the Aboriginal and Community Support Team. The Mornington Peninsula Shire take their role in Human Rights seriously and run many events in support of their work. Vicky has been very heavily involved in their community events since her relocation and will continue to do so, as their work is leagues above other councils!

As of the start of August 2011, Vicky also became a member of the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard Association. She is actively pursuing her training to ensure she qualifies as far as Coxswain, in the shortest amount of time feasible, to become just the second female skipper in the flotilla at Safety Beach. The AVCGA has been very supportive in assisting her to do so and Vicky looks forward to becoming a fully fledged member in the near future. AVCGA - keeping our waters safe !

I would like to acknowledge the Boonwurrung and Bunurong people who are the traditional custodians of this land. I would also like to pay respect to the elders past and present of the Kulin Nation in recognition and gratitude for the land on which Sanctuary for Souls is based.
