Vicky is passionate about giving people the skills and understanding they need to consciously choose and craft the life they desire, so that they can move forward and create change with confidence, courage and loving support.
One of the ways she does this is through her unique Indulgent Nights Meditation events, which allow you to practice mindfulness, gratitude and experience the senses in a new and exiting way.
When was the last time you actually sat still and enjoyed the pleasures of your tastebuds?
In today’s world everyone is so busy running from one place to the next, even mealtime is often on the run.
When we live in the present moment and consciously make an effort to meditate regularly, savour each and every mouthful, and live mindfully, the effect on our body, mind and spirit is far more beneficial.
We’ve all been guilty at one time or another of watching T.V. or checking our emails while we eat, but multitasking can distract us from our body’s signals.
Eating mindfully involves paying full attention to the experience. We pay attention to the colours, smells, textures, flavours, temperatures, and even the sounds (crunch!) of our food.
However, living mindfully involves noticing when the mind gets distracted, whilst avoiding judgement or criticism, which pulls us away from the intention of what we are doing i.e. eating or drinking.
Have you ever observed the impulses that arise after we've taken a few sips or bites: to grab a book, to turn on the TV, to call someone on our phone, or to do web search on some interesting subject?
With eating and living mindfully, we notice the impulse, and then return to being fully present in the moment.
The old habits of eating and not paying attention are not easy to change. Don't try to make drastic changes. Lasting change take time, and are built on many small changes.
